The Why
When I started pumping, I assumed the 24mm flange included in the box was standard — because it came with every pump. It seemed like just another piece of gear… until I realised how much of a difference sizing could make.
Since launching Bubka, I’ve spoken with hundreds of mums who’ve had the same realisation.
That’s why we set out to become Australia’s most size-inclusive pumping brand.
Our Universal Flange Kit helps any mum using a standard 24mm breast shield (which comes with most major pumps) find their perfect fit.
The kit includes 11mm, 13mm, 15mm, 17mm, 19mm and 21mm inserts, designed to slide securely into most 24mm shields. It’s our way of making comfort more accessible — no matter your pump or your size.
Which Pumps Does It Work With?
We’ve built our compatibility table using feedback from thousands of real Bubka mums. It’s always evolving. If you’re unsure, email support@bubka.com.au — we’re happy to help you confirm fit before buying.

Why Support Other Pump Brands?
Because we’re not here to gatekeep comfort.
If you’re using another pump brand and experiencing pain, poor output, or a sense that something’s just off — a better-fitting flange might be the answer. And if we can help, we will. Regardless of the logo on your pump.
How to Find Your Flange Size
- Measure your nipple diameter: Use a ruler or nipple measuring tool at the base (not the areola).
- Add 2mm: This allows for a bit of movement and prevents rubbing inside the tunnel.
- Match the size: Use your adjusted measurement to choose the closest flange size.
Why Flange Size Matters
- Comfort: The wrong size can lead to pain or tissue damage. A good fit should feel snug, not tight.
- Better milk flow: A well-fitting flange helps your pump create a proper vacuum and express milk more efficiently.
- Fewer clogs: The right fit helps maintain flow and lowers the risk of blocked ducts.
COMFY Fit Checklist
C – Centre Nipple: Nipple moves freely without rubbing
O – Only a Little Areola: Most stays outside the flange
M – Motion is Gentle: No pulling or pinching
F – Feels Comfortable: No pain during or after
Y – Yields Milk: You feel emptied after a session
Will My Flange Size Change?
Yes, it might.
Nipple size can change throughout your breastfeeding journey due to hormone shifts, supply changes, or pumping frequency. We recommend checking your fit every 2–3 months or if something suddenly feels off.
If pumping becomes uncomfortable or your supply unexpectedly drops, checking your flange size is a smart first step.
