The IWD 2026 theme, “Give to Gain,” highlights a powerful idea. When women are supported to thrive, families and communities grow stronger too.
At Bubka, we see this spirit of giving every day through the mums in our community.
This International Women’s Day, we want to spotlight one of those incredible women. Emily Jennings.
Nearly 60L Donated (and Counting)
Emily is also approaching a huge milestone. She is about to reach 60 litres of donated breast milk, all pumped and shared with families who need it.
That represents hundreds of pumping sessions, countless hours and an extraordinary amount of generosity.
For babies who rely on donor milk, those litres matter. Each bottle helps give another family the support they need in those early weeks.
Mum Giving More Than Milk
Emily is an exclusive pumper in the Bubka community who has taken her breastfeeding journey one step further by donating her breast milk to families in need.
Using her Bubka pumps, Em spends hours pumping not only for her own bub, but also to help nourish babies whose families may need extra support. Over the course of her journey she has used both the Bubka Move and now the Bubka Glow, finding ways to fit pumping into the rhythm of everyday life.
It is a beautiful example of what Give to Gain looks like in real life.
“Exclusive pumping can be a lot,” Em says.
“But knowing some of the milk I pump can help another baby makes every session feel worth it.”
For parents facing supply challenges, premature births, or medical situations where breastfeeding is not possible, donated breast milk can make a huge difference.
Emily’s generosity is helping other babies grow stronger, one pumping session at a time.
Pumping With Bubka
Exclusive pumping means pumping multiple times a day, every day. Having equipment that fits into your routine rather than stopping it can make a big difference.
Emily started her pumping journey using the Bubka Move, and now uses the Bubka Glow, our newest wearable breast pump designed to support mums through real everyday life.
“When you’re pumping this often, you need something that fits into real life,” Em shared.
“Bubka lets me keep going while still being present for my own family.”
Wearable pumps allow mums to pump while getting on with their day. Caring for their bub, moving around the house, or simply not being tied to a wall makes the routine far more manageable.
For exclusive pumpers like Emily, that flexibility matters.
The Power of the Bubka Community
Since starting Bubka, one thing has become very clear. Breastfeeding is rarely a solo journey.
It is supported by partners, lactation consultants, friends, online communities, and often by other mums who quietly step up to help.
Milk donation is one of those acts.
Behind every donated bottle is a mum who made the time to pump, store and share something incredibly valuable. Emily’s generosity is a reminder that breast milk can nourish more than one family.
Thinking About Donating or Receiving Breast Milk?
Emily’s story shows how powerful a simple act of giving can be.
For some mums, donating breast milk is a way to support families going through difficult circumstances. This might include premature births or medical challenges that make breastfeeding difficult.
In Australia, organisations like Mothers Milk Bank Charity help make this possible by safely collecting, screening and pasteurising donated human milk so it can reach babies who need it most.
